EVERYWHERE I GO KIDS LOVE TO DO TAI CHI.
WE ALL HAVE STRESS AND NEED TIME TO RELAX. TAI CHI WORKS NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE OR WHAT LANGUAGE YOU SPEAK.
Tai Chi Photos from Johannesburg, South Africa We did Tai Chi at a pre-school. Everyone loved being a tree with the leaves fluttering in the breeze. It was the first time the children had done anything like this. they immediately felt the energy. They smiled as the visualized the birds, the dragon, the tiger and the lion sleeping. Everyone was quiet. The teachers marveled at the beautiful moments of silent focus created by the Tai chi experience .
Tai Chi Fotos from Cape Town, South Africa: I trained 350 police officer from the Juvenile Division of the Cape Town Police department to use Tai Chi for Kids with the juveniles they are working with. After the workshop we sat around and talked about the challenges, the needs, the possibility of given young people the tools they need for focus, self-control and most importantly belief in themselves and their own future success. Living in a stressful difficult world, we need an opportunity to turn off the stress we all feel. Tai Chi gives us the needed break.
Master Thyssen is continuing the programs I started during my visit there.
He has trained many of the students at a primary school in Somerset West. As we did it together the children smiled with the happiness of a peaceful time together. We were a special group. We cared about each other. The energy flowed everywhere. The students said “i love to do Tai Chi. It makes me feel good!”
Tai Chi Photos from New York City I work with elementary schools, middle schools and high schools. Students love the focus, the break from their busy day, the inner sense of peace as they breathe and begin to get in touch with their feelings, needs, appreciation, compassion and happiness. When I ask the elementary children how they feel after Tai Chi they say things such as: happy, relaxed, my tummy ache has gone away, please can we do it again!
High School students will ask: “If I do this everyday can I always feel this good?” “Can you tell me what to eat also so I can be very healthy?” “This was the best day of the year. Can you come everyday?” I wish I could. I keep trying to get more and more teachers to commit to the 5-10 minute break that can make a difference in everyone’s day, week, month. In everyone’s life.
Tai Chi Photos from the Berkshires. I love working with kids at a summer camp in Mass. It is great when we can do it outside in the grass. It is even easier to connect to the earth when you don’t have shoes on! the roots grow from the bottoms of our feet. It is so strong. We feel so stable. So connected.
Northborough MA: I wish I had copies of the poems written by a group of 7th grade students at a middle school in Northborough MA. The students felt that they were better able to feel, express, relax and relate to the words and feelings they were writing about.
